Kovur, Govt. Degree College was established in the year 2008 through GO.Ms.No.97 Dated.08.07.2008 with the blessings and indiscriminate efforts made by our Honorable MLA Sri Polamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy garu . College was initially started in the TNC Govt.Junior College buildings which in turn is located in JBR Govt. High School premises .College was started with the following sanctioned posts : 01-Principal post, 09-Contract Lecturers and 02-Non-Teaching Posts. College got admitted initially 31 students in the year 2008 offering B.A(HEP), B.Com(Gen), and BSc (BZC,MPC) courses.

At present 12 Regular Teaching staff, 04-Non Teaching staff, 01-Contract faculty, 01-JKC mentor are working in the college, 240 students are totally enrolled for the three years. The College is running from 12.50 Noon to 5.20PM in the afternoon session. College is offering BA-HEP(TM) Course, B.Com (Computer Application), B.Sc with BZC and MPC courses. The Sanctioned strength for each group is 30.
